Washington, DC Tours

Spring/Summer Peak Season

Located in the heart of the Nation's Capital, the BEP's Washington, DC Tour and Visitor Center is a great place to learn all about U.S. paper currency.  See millions of dollars being printed as you walk along the gallery overlooking the production floor!


The free 40-minute experience includes an introductory film and gallery tour of the production process.  The visitor center includes exhibits and currency products for sale.

What You Need to Know


Admission is free.


The BEP is open to the public weekdays, Monday through Friday, and closed on weekends and federal holidays.


Tickets are required for the tour through August 31 and are distributed at the ticket booth a first come, first serve basis.


The ticket booth, located at Raoul Wallenburg Place SW (formerly 15th Street), opens at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and closes when all tickets have been distributed for the day.


The tour entrance is located on 14th Street, SW, near C Street.  Visitors must line up before their ticket time at the tour entrance on 14th Street and wait for directions from tour guides to enter the building.


All visitors are required to go through a security screening.


Demand is high for tickets and go quickly when released, particularly during the Cherry Blossom Festival and days surrounding school spring breaks and federal holidays.

Public Tours

9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.


Group Tours

11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (Advanced Reservations for Groups Only)

Tours run every 15 minutes


Visitor Center & Gift Shop

8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (14th Street entrance closes at 6:00 p.m.)


 

The BEP is a federal government organization and adheres to closure, late arrival or early dismissal guidance issued by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).  OPM determines the federal agency operating status for the Washington, DC area.
